so I have jet black hair but i want to dye it grey because i think it would look better and i would look more mature. Does anyone know where I can find grey dye for my hair - also how should I apply it?

Well depending on how good you want your hair to look you can go one of two ways... first do it yourself (you can get any color hair die at any hair salon). Or the second better choice is go pro get it done professionally and it will get done right!!!

My hair was a really golden blonde but i wanted to tone it down a bit so i put a permanent beige blonde all over and it looks really ashy and grey, i think it would be ok if the colour wasn't so solid, my friend is a hairdresser and wants to put bleach foils throught the top....what do youz think i should do? If you just did it, try using dish soap to wash it. Make sure and have conditioner on hand, cuz it'll be stripped!

Beige is a cool base, which means green or blue. Next time, although I do NOT advocate doing your own color!, mix that with half a bottle of the same shade in neutral. Especially in blondes, it's important to have representation of all the natural colors.

If it's too late to try to lift the color out a bit, foils are a great solution. Good luck!

The last poster is right about the undertones of color. You should always use a neutral base when coloring light hair....I know too late right?

If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply near you, go in and ask for Malibu treatment. It comes in a little packet. You add the crystals to hot water and pour it over your hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap and leave it on for about 30-45 min.

The Malibu will pull out some of the blue tint and bring out more of the golden tones to help bring it back to a reasonable color.

This will happen naturally with many washings, but it helps to get you there quicker.

The product is inexpensive so I recommend you always keep a packet on hand in case you ever decide to try again. ;)

Yes indeed, she knows what she is doing.. This is the only way to get the color stripped out if it is beyond 24 hours since you did it. The developer shouldn't be anything over 20..

30 vol left in foils too long might give you some breakage.

Next time you use a color try using a toner instead of a permanent tint. Were your ends much lighter than the golden color from the roots to the middle? IF so, the tint grabbed those ends because they were just too porus.

Have your hairdresser friend do your color or reccommend one next time.. And stay away from the platinum based too unless you want to be blue. If I use beige blonde toner on my lightened hair it turns it a nice pink... NOT so nice I should say.

hi well it all started yesterday as i waslked into the salon with golden blonde hair i asked the stylist to make it lighter and put a few brown streeks in so.....they decided to dye my hair bright WHITE and BLACK !!! peces so it looked grey with the colours together i was close to tears in the salon and i said that i wasent going to pay for it but as i was on my own they preasured me to pay up 鎷?5 !!!! for hair that i dident even want i liked it better before i steped inside the salon!!

so i baught somw blonde dye from the shop and tryed to get it blonde again but it went worse and now it look's a really dull grey ! The problem is that you have now altered the job that they had done. If you had left it as it was, you could have sued them for damages if they refused to rectify it. You could have also gone to Trading Standards, as it is classed as a Good or Service provided to the Public. As the consumer, if you are not completely satisfied with the service or product, you have a right to have it repaired at their cost or a full refund. Its not their option. Its the Law.

Now that you have altered the Job that they had done, it is going to be harder to prove that they caused you to go grey. However it maybe possible. As different makes of dye use different chemicals to create the effect, you have now opened yourself up to the possibility of variable results with any future dye application. I have heard of some types of peroxide reacting with others and turning light Green instead of blond!

This may not help but my hair has been going grey over the years and I would love a full head of grey hair. Anyway stop panicking,go back to the shop ,ask to speak to the person in charge, be polite and explain that the colour you have is not what you asked for. If they have any sense they will rectify the problem, any problems and tell them that you will stay out side the shop and tell anyone going in that this is what they have done to you. Other than that try a darker shade as a temporary measure.

OK i am a hairdresser you have a two options you can go back to the salon take someone with you and demand them to fix your hair or you will take further action this shouldn't have happened or you can go to another salon and ask them to fix it but you will have to pay for it don't try to fix it yourself it will only get worse i hope this helps i can tell you that everyone has at least one major hair disaster in their lives but i hope this doesn't put you off the good hairdressers in this world

You cant really sue a hairdressers unless they have damaged your scalp or burnt your hair off . go back and try and get the colour corrected with a differant stylist . if they have any respect they will do that . Amid blonde gold/ warm semi permanant should blend it through and take the edge off the grey . it will still have differant colours in but that will have it look better . if they wont help threaten to go to the local paper even a letter on the letters page could do the salon alot of damage so they should help you . Dont strip your hair !

Some men gray earlier than others, I am early 20's and I am going gray on top and in nether regions. If you shave, when the hair grows back it will appear darker. Avoid naked suntanning, as those rays make hairs lighter. As a last note: if there is no hair there, no one is the wiser.
