Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

What is the best way to cover up grey hair? Would highlights help.

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

ive put the link below so you can check out the site! you can get it in practically any store too, BONUS!!

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

Grey has silver highlights.

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

yes, but why, Ive had them since i was 20, i even bleach my hair now but there still there, so now Ive given up and except them, it shows maturity

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

highlights could help or they could make it worse.

it depends on how much grey hair you actually have.

if i was you i would go to a salon and have a consultation done with a good colour styist and see what they recomend for your hair.

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

I suppose they would, but I would just let them be, it's a never ending battle you'll never win. lol... I'm turning grey and I say to heck with it!

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

I used to say that, just go to a shop and buy a dye, that's best suited to your own colour, don't worry about it ,think of it this way, every time you are a year older,so is everyone else,it happens pal,im still laughing at your,Arrgh.lol

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

Mine is starting to turn grey - I don't care though!

Thegolfingjunkie - you're deluding yourself, mate!

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

AHHH!!! ive the same prolem!!! i'm 14 and i've had grey hair since i was 12!!! I'ts so weird like and kinda gross but i just get my hair coloured once a month!!

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

I started getting grey hair when I was 28!! UGH! I know how you feel...The best thing I've found is to get your hair colored. The grey hair automatically makes a lighter color "highlight". Semi permanent color only worked for a short time before it faded. Permanent is the way to go. I've done it at home when in a pinch. Not quite as good as the salon permanent color, but it works.

Look at it this way, an all over color with "natural" highlights is cheaper than a foil! :) Good luck!

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

To those that say just go grey....why!!! its so easy to keep it coloured now, why would any woman want to look older than she really is. Just remember that the darker your hair is the more the grey shows through! and as you get older your skin colour lightens so your hair needs to also. Cheapest way is home dyeing, best way? good salon, find a colourist you trust and go every 8 weeks or so.

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

if you're mid to light brown to dark blonde then adding ash blonde highlights will disguise them effectively. Failing that it's a trip to superdrug and buying dye for 100% grey coverage. You dont say how much grey you have. If it isnt much then the highlights might make it look like you have more but it works the other way if you have alot of grey hair. Whatever you do dont buy anything with red in it and do it yourself, the grey will turn pink!

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

Cleopatra had a great idea.

Use lots of eye make up and that distracts from the fact that you shaved your head .. No more grey hairs!

just kidding ...

but you can try accessories that would distract from your hair, or highlight other features

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

just touch up on your hair with the same colour hair dye as your hair. that should do it!

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

dye ur hair back to original color

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

It would of been a help if you had described your hair colour more...highlights are a good idea as the grey will be less noticable and your regrowth won't be as noticable, where as an allover colour would show your grey more as it's more of a block colour...

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

yes higlights will help, unfortunately it wont go away.

Arrgh grey hair! Go Away Please!?

Well, if you are a blonde or brunette just go with dye and use john freida glaze. If you have red hair, tea and henna! If you have black hair Indigo Powder with a little henna and tea. It really helps. Grey hair doesn't go away, the color will just stick longer!

My Grey Hair?

What apart from changing the colour can a lass do to enhance her 100% grey hair? It looks quite nice but I would like to brighten it up. Please no rude remarks or suggestions of blue rinses.

Thank you.

My Grey Hair?

I think grey hair can look lovely if its in good condition. If you don't really want to change the colour then I suggest you get an intensive shine conditioner which makes hair look great, whatever colour it is! It hydrates it really well and hydrated hair always looks younger and healthier. I would recommend Modern Organic Products range: www.mophair.com

My Grey Hair?

get some very blonde streaks put in and it looks good. someone at work has it and still looks v young

My Grey Hair?

There's a thing called clear hair dye...and I'm pretty sure it brightens up any hair color. But I could be wrong...

My Grey Hair?

Put a ribbon or a clip in it

My Grey Hair?

I think you can get specific shampoo %26amp; conditioner for 100% grey hair to brighten it up.

Ive just had a look on the Boots website, and they do their own range called Boots Specialist Greying Hair.

My Grey Hair?

Highlights? I suppose it depends on the actual colour of the grey. Ask your hairdresser. However, if it looks nice, just leave it!

My Grey Hair?

hey grey hair is sexy

My Grey Hair?

be proud of your greys. I have had them since i was 25 ten years ago, and i like them sprouting out of my head and the heads of others.

My Grey Hair?

My sister has completely grey hair, and what she does, is she gets a variety of honey coloured and blonde highlights through it, which just lifts the colour. You can still see that it is grey, but it ceases to be that nasty steel-grey colour, and looks much warmer and more youthful.

I sympathise, mine is well on the way to greydom!

My Grey Hair?

Treat your self to a really good cut.

Have a professional colourist apply a colour that has highlights and low lights to give a natural look.

Consider having a 'make-up' makeover done professionally. You might be using the same make up that you did when you still had your original colour and it might not be doing you justice. Or you might not wear any make up at all and some discreet make up might enhance your hair.

Don't ask your regular hairdresser for advice. Go upmarket to get some ideas and pamper yourself at the same time.

My Grey Hair?

There is a colour range for grey hair, ask at boots or super drug,

My Grey Hair?

Try buying a silver tint moose or you can always put a light blonde dye on to bighten the colour.

My Grey Hair?

there a shapoos and conditioners and mouses for grey hair they add silver tones so just brighten without being permanent,

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

i have brown hair been going grey since about age of 15 and brrn dying it dar ever since. but nw i think if i just leave it my hair will be compleyly grey as my grey roots are really bad. should i continue dying it grey or go lighter so its not as noticable

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

You should go lighter. A Dark hair color will just magnify it more, and be a an up keep. If you go lighter it will bled the Grey into your hair, and be less noticeable. Also the up keep is less. So put some highlights in.

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

In the cupboard behind the pasta and rice

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

Best way to hide grey hair is NOT to hide it..!!

It happens to us all at some stage

Most women love it!

Accept it and enjoy.. ;-)

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

I would lighten the rest of your hair so it won't be so drastic growing out.

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

Grey hair is very beautiful.

Let your hair be natural. You were born with your hair color and no matter what color you use, it will not look great because it is not natural.

Be proud of your natural hair color.

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

A balaclava. If you can't afford one, an old wooly stocking with eye holes should do the trick.

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

Well i would say that the best way to hide all that stupid lol gray hair well u know um if u want to hide ur gray roots then highlite and get ur hair done k then

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

Pomade, you will have to search for it though, as not many chemists stock it.

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

I had a friend start going grey at 13. we thought it made her distinctive. Embrace it, (as it rejects coloring.) and it's just so dignified.

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

If a lighter color suites your skin color then go for it. The lighter color would hide some gray. Also you might try another hairstyle. I recommend an upswept hair do. Something off of your face. You could also try going curly. A curly hair style will cover up some of the gray. Try to avoid parting your, because parts will show the gray closest to your scalp. try not to show scalp. You can continue to dye your hair but don't use a dark color, try going lighter.

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

Leave it alone, just be yourself!

David Guest can afford to spend loads of money of his 'balding' head, but let's face it as nice a guy as he is, don't you think he would prefer to be liked for his personality than his 'head gear'.

Look at Phillip Schofield...... he is much happier being grey, he is more himself now - good looking too!

why do you want to be different to what you are? Relax, you'll be liked more just for being 'you'!

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

1- If you are a guy don't even think about dying your hair.

2- If you are a lady Yes...dye your hair. Try to do highlights along with a deep blond hair color, It will look natural and you wont get to see that massive grey roots growing up.

Whats the best way to hide grey hair?

Highlight it.

How do you make your hair go grey?

We hear a lot about how to KEEP your hair from going grey, or how to cover up grey hair, but is there a way you can make your hair go grey prematurely (besides stress)?

What causes grey hair to turn yellow?

when young my hair was nearly black. I started turning grey in my 20's and I did not mind it.. it became a nearly silver/grey and I still have most of it. now it is turning yellow AND I DO NOT LIKE IT... Also how do I prevent it from turning yellow

What causes grey hair to turn yellow?

I believe this is a common problem and that there are shampoos that can help with this. Call your local hair salon and ask for help.

What causes grey hair to turn yellow?

I've never seen grey hair turn yellow. My grandmother hair never turned yellow and her whole head is white. So if it's turning yellow shouldn't it just look like blonde hair!

How could i control grey hair and i am only 23 yrs.?

Nothing unusual about grey hair in your twenties. But it beats having it fall out from the effects of constantly dying it.My wife stopped dying hers and just leaves it natural because her hair was a mess from dye, with split ends and whatever. Now it is long, silky, thick and grey.Much better hair than a lot of the dyed stuff on all the youngsters, trying to hide their first streaks of grey.Natural grey beats going bald any day of the week.

How could i control grey hair and i am only 23 yrs.?

It's hereditary so really there is nothing you can do. I am the same way and it sucks. I started to gray when i was in middle school, the only way I keep it from getting out of hand is dying it. It sucks but it looks much better. Oh btw im 28.

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes

I am in my early thirties so the "granny look" and/or "going white gracefully" are not for me (I don't want to look older than my husband!). Is there a hair dye that will cover my grey and is safe enough so I don't end up bald?

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

Get advice for a salon. Also don't trust nice and easy's promise of grey coverage it didn't touch mine.

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

I suggest going to a professional hair stylist. Don't use the color in a box, you will ruin your hair. Also, keep the color up. Grey roots are sooo gross looking. I also suggest going with your natural color pre-grey. Good luck!

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

Hair dye usually doesn't make you go bald unless used completely too much. And that would be a lot. Any at home kit should work, or you could go to a professional, all though that could be a bit pricey.

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

u wont end up bald unless u dye too often...so dun worry bout it...(my mom oso like tht...)

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

I've been going grey since my late 20's (hereditary unfortunately)

I've also been dyeing my hair since I was 14, using all types of product and I'm showing no signs of going bald.

Just dye it...you will feel better about yourself (do a patch test first though)

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

go to a salon ask for a luo colour by loreal. they colour grey but looks really natuarl as it leaves little bits out you dont get a block colour as such it changes with different lights sometimes darker sometimes light its kind to your hair and you dont get roots you`ll love it

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

well i always think natural is best but i suppose there is no harm in dying your hair. i know that it isn't the best thing for your hair but i think just one application every few months is no big deal. of course nothing is permanent so if you start, be prepared to re-do it every few months or so. if your hair is a darker color and you don't mind having a red tint to it, you might want to try Henna. its an all natural approach to coloring hair. Good luck :)

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

Go to a salon and get your hair dyed. It will look great and you definitly won't go bald

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

Hair dye does not make you bald. If you dye it many many many times it will make your hair fall out though. Dye your hair once, only once because if you do it more it will kill dry/damage your hair.

I've had grey hair since childhood but now is really going grey. I've heard hair dye makes you bald!?

Hair dye does not make you go bald. So many people dye their hair and theyre fine. If dye made you go bald no one would put it in their hair!

How to manage grey hair?

Any sugestions for reducing the frizzy and wire-like texture of grey hair, especially with having naturally curly hair? (its premature grey... 20% white at early 20's)

How to manage grey hair?

I would color it, I myself am 30 yrs old have curly hair and color mine overy six weeks or so. I am about 10% gray. To make your hair less frizzy cut down on shampooing and use only a baby shampoo which is much gentler and does not contain sodium laurel sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate which strips hair of natural oils that curly hair needs.

How to manage grey hair?

I've tried tons of products and couldn't find anything for that problem. I'm way too lazy to colour mine and actually kinda like the grey colour (about 30% big streaks in 40s).

From my experience, I'd say let it grow longer if you can bear it as the weight tamed mine a lot. Was horribly frizzy when short. Damp days were a nightmare!

Now having let it grow to almost waist length, it falls into big ringlets and is much more manageable. I can even straighten completely without it misbehaving *too* badly (kinda gently bounces back rather than frizzing) and if it gets wet I can stick it in a pony tail, loose bunches or get a bit creative. Looks pretty dramatic due to the streakiness.

How to manage grey hair?

Try nice 'n' easy

How to manage grey hair?

Are you wanting to just tame it down with product or looking to color it? If you just want to reduce the frizz, try a shine serum when damp , but do not apply it to the crown this will give you an oily look , also apply interrupted by Brocata , this will tame the frizz down , there are other lines that carry things for this but I love this line , you have to buy it in a salon and it is very reasonably priced , also let a hairstylist look at your hair and they would be happy to show you some good product , even better talk to a stylist with natural curly hair .Hope this helped.

How to manage grey hair?

You diet needs some working on. What type of foods are you consuming? Junk foods or healthy nutritious foods? To reverse grey hair, check out this drink at http://store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/clink?her...

How to manage grey hair?

You get a reconditioner and leave it in for 20 min or use heat and leave in for 30. It will help a lot. Grey hair is wirey because the pigment is gone. It can be managed, just look for a proper conditioner.

How to manage grey hair?

i also have the same proble. i have curly nive hair and i also like thecolor it is light bronw and goes with my natural green eyes ut because i ahve a lot of grey hair i ahev to color them . no w i go with caramel color

good luck with ti

How to manage grey hair?

You are stressed! Chi is the best flat iron! and Ms. Clairol is our friend!

How to manage grey hair?

Try getting your hair cut really short and dye and highlight it. You can dye it any colour you want. You should find that you have more body and less frizz. The fun part is picking a colour you like.If you still have fizz try a gel or foam to settled down the fizz. There are products on the market to deal with fizz ask someone at a drugmart cosmetic counter.Good Luck!! P.S. you can't change the texture it is what it is!!!

Why do they say blue-haired for people with grey hair? For example, mama off of Mama's Family b

I am wondering why people say blue-haired for grey hair. It's particularly with the Thelma Harper character. I am finding more and more things on the internet that say she is a blue-haired widow. I have never seen anyone with blue hair in less it's been dyed or something. Clearly, Mama has grey hair, so I am wondering why some people say it's blue-haired. Maybe I am just colorblind, but this picture of Mama looks like grey hair http://www.televisionhits.com/mamasfamil...

Why do they say blue-haired for people with grey hair? For example, mama off of Mama's Family blue-haired?!

she has blueish greyish hair..

Why do they say blue-haired for people with grey hair? For example, mama off of Mama's Family blue-haired?!

Its because professional colorists see other colors iside the hair like indigo, blue and pink when its not really there its hard to explain.

Why do they say blue-haired for people with grey hair? For example, mama off of Mama's Family blue-haired?!

She dyed her hair a light blue color...and the reason is because since grey/white hair has no more pigment it picks up colors better

Why do they say blue-haired for people with grey hair? For example, mama off of Mama's Family blue-haired?!

I think that the statement "Blue-haired little old ladies" comes from a time when elderly, or older women put color on their gray hair that gave it a blueish tint. It's become a thing to laugh about over the years, and there is a point to it. However, I've seen more than the blue shades around in recent years: peach, apricot, and something called "steele gray". Love it!

Why do they say blue-haired for people with grey hair? For example, mama off of Mama's Family blue-haired?!

It doesn't happen so much these days, but back in the 40's to 60's when gray-haired women went to get their hair done, the hairdresser would put a rinse on it and it was SO "silver" that it looked like a light shade of blue... like a blue tinge to it.

Things have improved. I haven't seen any blue-haired old ladies lately.

Is there a product to cover a few grey hairs, rather than coloring your entire head of hair?

I am 27 years old and have noticed several grey hairs. For the past few years, I have had a few here and there and pulled them out. They are more frequent now, and hate the idea of pulling them all, just to have them come back. I don't want to get in the habbit of having to color my hair, or even change my hair color. I love the way it looks now. IS there any product that you can use to cover up those stray grey hairs? Like a shampoo in color or just a small kit to use on the grey hairs themselves? I know that would be time consuming, but I'll do anything!

Is there a product to cover a few grey hairs, rather than coloring your entire head of hair?

men's hair color kits come with little combs and you can "spot dye" with them!

Is there a product to cover a few grey hairs, rather than coloring your entire head of hair?

hey i'm 39yr old..and have some grey hairs as well..

at first i thought F this..i'm not gonna color my hair..it's a chick thing..

but it really it isn't a big deal..one merely applies it to one's scalp..waits like 30 minutes and washes it out..

that's it...and you can get a color that is very close to your own ..people won't even notice..

trust it is very easy..no hassel..cost about 6 bucks a month..

Is there a product to cover a few grey hairs, rather than coloring your entire head of hair?

Try to identify the cause in your case. You can have henna treatments once a week. In order to check premature greying, you can add amla to the henna powder. Heat coconut oil and apply on the scalp, the night before you shampoo.

take coconut oil and massage your head with it every night.

Is there a product to cover a few grey hairs, rather than coloring your entire head of hair?

To check graying of hair, mix lemon juice in olive oil, beat till frothy and apply on scalp and wash off after an hour. Premature graying of hair can be postponed by using a strong decotion of black tea and a tablespoon of salt, strain and apply to the roots for 45 minutes and wash with water. Don't shampoo. Please check out http://useinfo-grayhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

What about grey hair?

Is it true that stress causes grey hair? When is the usual time to have quite a bit of grey? Any answers would be appreciated as I seriously want to know this and any input would be appreciated.

What about grey hair?

At age 26 before we opened our buisness my wifes hair was solid black. My wife got gray hair at age 27, about 20% then because of our job stress. We own our own buisness. Now she is 34 with about 40% gray. A higher stress level of work could not only make your hair gray but give you heart problems or a brain aneurysm (early signs from blood vessel causing pain along side of head temporarily, so be careful. Work = Money but can also = a shorter life.

What about grey hair?

yes, it's true that stress causes grey hair. It doesnt turn your whole head grey but you will notice strands of grey throughout your hair.

People start getting grey hair at different times in their lives, it depends on your gentics... someone I know got grey hair at 16, and some people don't get it until their late 40's. But there is no specific "time" for grey hair to start popping up.

What about grey hair?

I started getting grey hair in my 30's. I don't even know if I have much of it, because the second I noticed it, I started coloring it and I have been coloring it for over a decade now. I think a lot of it depends on genetics and life style habits (stress ect.) I know people who went grey in their early 20's. and people my age who don't have a bit of grey. It just depends.

What about grey hair?

It could be, but a lot has to do with genetics. I have a strand or two of gray hairs and it doesn't bother me much. It looks like blonde hairs to me instead of the usually grey hair.

What about grey hair?

try usin some dye..and there is no age factor for greyin of hair..its happens due to the pigmentation of the hair.

What about grey hair?

my dr said yes its true

i have been getting more and more grey hairs

eveyday

sometimes the dye doesnt cover them all

heres more on it

Legend has it that Marie Antoinette's hair turned white the night before she was guillotined. Presumably the stress of impending decapitation caused her locks to lose color within hours. Extremely unlikely, scientists say, but stress may play a role in a more gradual graying process.

The first silvery strands usually pop up around age 30 for men and age 35 for women, but graying can begin as early as high school for some and as late as the 50s for others.

Graying begins inside the sunken pits in the scalp called follicles. A typical human head has about 100,000 of these teardrop-shaped cavities, each capable of sprouting several hairs in a lifetime. At the bottom of each follicle is a hair-growing factory where cells work together to assemble colored hair. Keratinocytes (epidermal cells) build the hair from the bottom up, stacking atop one another and eventually dying, leaving behind mostly keratin, a colorless protein that gives hair its texture and strength. (Keratin is also a primary component of nails, the outer layer of skin, animal hooves and claws?even rhinoceros horns.)

As keratinocytes construct hairs, neighboring melanocytes manufacture a pigment called melanin, which is delivered to the keratinocytes in little packages called melanosomes.

Hair melanin comes in two shades閳ユ攨umelanin (dark brown or black) and pheomelanin (yellow or red)閳ユ敄hat combine in different proportions to create a vast array of human hair colors. Hair that has lost most of its melanin is gray; hair that has lost all of this pigment is white.

At any given time, around 80 to 90 percent of the hairs on a person's head are in an active growth phase, which may last anywhere from two to seven years. At the end of this stage, the follicle shrivels, the keratinocytes and melanocytes undergo programmed cell death (apoptosis), and the follicle enters a resting phase, during which the hair falls out.

To begin building a new hair, the follicle factory must be rebuilt. Fresh keratinocytes and melanocytes are recruited from progenitor cells, also called "stem cells," residing at the bottom of the follicle. For unknown reasons, keratinocyte stem cells have a much greater longevity than the melanocyte stem cells, says David Fisher, professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. "It's the gradual depletion of [melanocyte] stem cells that leads to the loss of pigment," he says.

Does stress accelerate this demise of the melanocyte population? "It is not so simple," Fisher says, noting that the process of graying is a multivariable equation. Stress hormones may impact the survival and / or activity of melanocytes, but no clear link has been found between stress and gray hair.

Suspicions閳ユ攣nd hypotheses閳ユ攣bound, however. "Graying could be a result of chronic free radical damage," says Ralf Paus, professor of dermatology at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein in L鐪塨eck, Germany. Stress hormones produced either systemically or locally (by cells in the follicle) could produce inflammation that drives the production of free radicals閳ユ敆nstable molecules that damage cells閳ユ攣nd "it is possible that these free radicals could influence melanin production or induce bleaching of melanin," Paus says.

"There is evidence that local expression of stress hormones mediate the signals instructing melanocytes to deliver melanin to keratinocytes," notes Jennifer Lin, a dermatologist who conducts molecular biology research at the Dana-Farber / Harvard Cancer Center in Boston. "Conceivably, if that signal is disrupted, melanin will not deliver pigment to your hair."

And general practice physicians have observed accelerated graying among patients under stress, says Tyler Cymet, head of family medicine at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, who conducted a small retrospective study on hair graying among patients at Sinai. "We've seen that people who are stressed two to three years report that they turn gray sooner," he says.

How to treat grey hair and hair fall?

read this:

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

What can I eat to prevent premature greying?

Eating seafood is possibly one of the best things you can eat to promote all-over hair health. It is rich in zinc, iodine and protein, which are excellent for the hair. So if you enjoy seafood, make it a point to have fish several times a week. Remember that eating canned fish will not give you the same benefits as eating freshly cooked fish. If you don?t eat fish, consider fish-oil supplements.

Iron is good for hair and is found in dark green vegetables, meat and some pulses. If you are unsure about whether you are getting enough iron, include an iron supplement every once in a while in your diet. Remember that too many iron supplements can be bad for you. Women lose iron while menstruating, so perhaps during or after your cycle you can have iron-fortified supplements for a few days.

Eating foods rich in Vitamins B and C will ensure that your hair stays strong, does not break easily, and does not grey early. Pork, vegetables, whole grains, wheat germ, soymilk are all rich sources of Vitamin B, while citrus fruits are excellent sources of Vitamin C. Eating adequate Vitamin C helps increase absorption of iron. Try and have a glass of orange juice daily.

Your hair will never be healthy if you do not drink enough water. Drink at least eight to ten glasses a day.

What oil can I apply to my hair?

Rosemary oil is believed to gradually darken grey hair over a period of time. Soak rosemary leaves along with a few basil (tulsi) leaves, in jojoba oil, for a period of four weeks. Massage your scalp and hair with this oil (after warming it up).

Most oils are not easily absorbed by the hair, which is why you need to leave oil on for at least forty-five minutes. It helps greatly if you steam your hair after applying oil.

Boil dried amla pieces in coconut oil until the pieces turn black and the oil darkens. Apply this oil to the hair. It strengthens hair and prevents greying.

Boil tealeaves in water and rinse your hair with this liquid 20-30 times. Then, leave on for 15-20 minutes before the final rinse.

What else can I do to promote hair health and delay greying?

Washing your hair with very hot water or using hair-dryers excessively weaken roots, and may lead to premature greying. When using a hair-dryer, take care not to point it to your scalp. Similarly, try and wash your hair with cool or lukewarm water.

Will Yoga help?

Inverted yoga poses bring a rush of blood to the scalp. This stimulates circulation and enhances hair health. Do the following poses regularly:

Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog)

Sarvangasana

Chakrasana

Other easy ways to stimulate circulation are:

When you wash your hair, keep switching from hot water to cold water.

Comb your hair regularly. A hundred strokes every night should do the trick. If your hair is curly, use a wide toothed comb.

How to treat grey hair and hair fall?

i read where a copper deficiency may be a cause and usually if you have this there is an iron deficiency also. You can fix this by eating whole grains, shellfish, nuts, beans and leafy vegetables.

also the dye is a chemical which does have an effect on your hair, when the hair is strong its no problem but yours is weakened so it doesn't take much to worsen the problem.

buy hair food it is a light oil you rub into your scalp it really works.

How do I cover grey/white hair?

My hair seems to be falling out because of hair colouring to 'wipe out' my grey hairs. Any other ways to color hair-- and prevent hair loss.

Anyone use aloe vera for this? I've read that it promotes hair growth.

How do I cover grey/white hair?

It sounds like you might be coloring your hair too much? You should only be coloring your new growth every 4-6 weeks (meaning roots only) If you are doing the entire head and coloring over color that is why your hair is falling out. It is probably not falling out, maybe breaking off. That can be caused by over processing.

Also, what kind of color are you using? If you are buying a store color that contains alot of harsh chemicals that could be another bit of your problem. Those cheap store products are not doing hair any favors, the are very damaging.

You might want to try going to Sallys Beauty Supply and ask them to match you up w/ a Grey-Busters color, it is specially designed for grey-white hair. Also get a 10 vol. cream developer (you don't need anything stronger because you are depositing color not lifting) Get a color bottle for mixing %26amp; applying, gloves, a sectioning comb, clips to seperating the hair. Ask the person you talk to if they can show you how to section and just do roots. This will be alot better for your hair. The only thing is it may be very ackward to do the color yourself, maybe have your husband, older daughter or friend do it for you.

Also, only leave on the recommended time the directions say, leaving on longer does nothing but cause more damage to the hair.

Henna is the only other way I know to color grey hair. I haven't heard anything about aloe vera promoting hair growth. Hair is fed by the blood of your body.

Just die your hair and forget that it is unnatural

Anybody can give me a good solution for hair loss & grey hair problems?

For me right now 24years,Before 3 years back my hair was very thick but on that time for me little bit grey hair also their (some 3-4%), it's very less. But simply I started dying my hair to avoid that one. On that time I did not face any problems, but now the situation is worst. My hair became very thin, and it's start falling. Now, my hair density is also reducing. Really I am worrying too much for that. I thought to stop dying but after I started use dye almost 65-70% of my hairs became grey. I could not able to stop also. Now I am worrying for the mistake what I did. I don閳ユ獩 know what I should do now, totally in confused stage. Is there any natural treatment available to solve my hair loss problem and how can retain my hair color without grey also?

Anybody can give me a good solution for hair loss %26amp; grey hair problems?

I know you probably don't want to hear this but....

Stop regarding it as a problem and accept it as a natural process.

I've earned every one of my grey hairs!

I believe grey hair gives a man a look of distinction.

It is theorized that worry and stress increase hair loss. Take a good deep breath and know that time marches on. It's the people who don't care what color your hair is or how much of it you have, the people who value you for your character, not your appearance who will mean the most to you in the long run.

Anybody can give me a good solution for hair loss %26amp; grey hair problems?

if your problem is genetic, you have low chance! but if not, u can call a Dr. (hair and skin)

Anybody can give me a good solution for hair loss %26amp; grey hair problems?

for hair loss, high protein diet might help you.and for the Grey hair,hair-blacken might help

Anybody can give me a good solution for hair loss %26amp; grey hair problems?

You have to stop dying your hair. That stuff is not good for you because those are chemicals that infiltrate your skin and destroy your hair cells.

Anybody can give me a good solution for hair loss %26amp; grey hair problems?

Well, I feel for you; I too am watching myself die. They say from 19 on, it's downhill. At 21 my hairline started to recede. By 35 I had a no longer deniable Al Gore bald spot on the back of my head. And at 37, the grey hairs started.

At first I was scared at the stark reality, so I would get buzz cuts and pluck the greys. People continued to think that I was in my mid to late 20's. But then the greys multiplied. And as you know grey hair grows at about three times the speed of hair with color. I was losing.

Dying hair, I know from experience, only makes it worse. Your best bet it to dye the greys selectively. And move on. Don't plan you funeral yet.

Anybody can give me a good solution for hair loss %26amp; grey hair problems?

Grey hair DYE!!!!!!!!!????

Ladies, pls help me, I need to dye my hair grey for acting, I just need to know where the hell I can get it, I've looked %26amp; not found anything.....

Grey hair DYE!!!!!!!!!????

Usually you put baby powder in it to make it "look" grey. Otherwise, I recommend a wig.

Grey hair DYE!!!!!!!!!????

Party City has spray stuff. Works great! http://partycity.com

Drug stores have stuff called Fanci Ful, it's a liquid dye that washes out in a week.

Or permanent dye from a drug store most of them have it in a box by the shampoo.

Grey hair DYE!!!!!!!!!????

Depending on where you live, try to locate a Sally Beauty Supply. Not only will they have the hair dye, the people working generally know quite a lot about how to do it yourself, and what product to buy.

Grey hair DYE!!!!!!!!!????

Use some baby powder for grey hair, you can dampen your hair so it won't fly off, then spray it with a firm spray to keep it on.

Its most effective if you just use it as grey streaks at the temples. No one in their right minds wants to dye their hair grey and if you tried, you would have to bleach down to white, that is too hard on the hair and would break it. You could also try clown white for streaks. If you need a really white look, use a wig.

Grey hair DYE!!!!!!!!!????

You you will not find Grey hair color , Platinum blond is the closest . putting baby powder in your hair works temporary . Or JUST GET REAL STRESSED OUT , you'll see gray in no time

Grey hair DYE!!!!!!!!!????

Try Ben Nye products. There is a silver gray liquid that will temporarily dye your hair. You brush it on and then just shampoo your hair to make it come off.

you can oder it here:

For hair that's turning grey, how to make it all grey?

Is there a dye that turns partly grey hair all grey?

For hair that's turning grey, how to make it all grey?

Why would you want to do that? You can get a frosting kit from like wal-mart and frost the rest of it . Put the frost on real heavy.(pull alot through the cap.)

For hair that's turning grey, how to make it all grey?

Impossible color to get. You may end up with more blue or violet than grey. Or Platinum...

For hair that's turning grey, how to make it all grey?

Have a Thorough Head Massage and improve the blood circulation on the scalp for hair nourishment

Can you use a hair dye advertised to "cover grey hair" on hair that isn't grey?

at the store, i could only find the color i desired in a box that advertiesed covering grey hair (clairol mens choice). I have dyed hair now, but i want to cover it up with my original hair color (or something close) is it alright to do that without it ruining my hair?

Can you use a hair dye advertised to "cover grey hair" on hair that isn't grey?

it should be ok and just to make sure is go and check with a hair stylist before you go and do it

Can you use a hair dye advertised to "cover grey hair" on hair that isn't grey?

Yes you can use it. The only difference between that and the other is the hair color for grey hair is a little harsher. It has to use more peroxide or accelorator to penetrate the cuticle on grey hair because it is coarser and more resistant to color. Just think of what you have as "heavy duty" color for normal hair. I doubt you will be able to tell a difference.

Grey hair on a15yrold?

my son has a grey spot of hair on the back of his head its about thye size of a penny does anyone know what the cause of this could be,

Grey hair on a15yrold?

My brother has the same exact thing...its a birth mark. It's no your fault nor a birth defect, a mere birth mark.

Grey hair on a15yrold?

i dont know but im 15 and some ppl in my class have some grey hair so it must be normal

Grey hair on a15yrold?

Well..........you know Taylor Hicks starting getting grey hair at that time too..........maybe thats it!!?

Grey hair on a15yrold?

it could be a birthmark. Or,he is going to get grey hair earlier than most. Does it run in the family?

Grey hair on a15yrold?

stress

Grey hair on a15yrold?

my freind had the same thing, but with white londe hair. some peple have birth marks on there eyes too. its absolutely normal! dont worry, but if her self concious about it, then just put some dye on it

Grey hair on a15yrold?

i think its normal some ppl are born like that ...

just dye it

Grey hair on a15yrold?

Pluk them out

Grey hair on a15yrold?

When I was 13, I got about 12-15 strands of grey hair, they ahve been there ever since, I have never pulled them out because of the old wives tail about pulling one out getting 2 in replacement, I can usualy cover it up with other hair so it doesn't bother me, but for a boy it can't be as easy.

They say you gt grey hair when you are stressed I got them the same year my parents spilt up - I don't know if this is the reason but it has done me no harm!

Grey hair on a15yrold?

Make a unique feature of it. Sounds normal but related to a genetic thing. I would have loved to have something different about me at that age!

Grey hair on a15yrold?

It's completely normal. Some people grey at an early age, sometimes it's a birth mark. No worries..

Grey hair on a15yrold?

Somebody i know has got that.....i dont think there is anyhting to worry about...in fact i think it is perfectly normal really

Grey hair on a15yrold?

hair colour is genetic. Grey hair just means there's no pigmentation in that section

Grey hair on a15yrold?

i had lil grey hairs when i was 10.. a few and it mihg tbe just stress or something.

Taylor hicks from american idol had fully grey hair at 15 cause thats his natural hair color weird heh?

Grey hair on a15yrold?

i knew a kid onece(12) he had grey speckeled thing in his hair, it was some kind of no sweat DNA thing

Grey hair on a15yrold?

My son got the same when he was about 6 years old, was about the size of a penny, by the time he was 18 it was gone, it is nothing to worry about, just one of lifes little mysteries im afraid!

Grey hair on a15yrold?

There is nothing you can do about it - except dye it of course. My son is 10 and has one grey hair that comes back no matter how mant times i get rid of it. Ive cut it many times. Today i noticed he has one silver hair ! I`m not kidding ! I don`t worry about it - and he doesn`t even know - i don`t tell him - no need to. I think it`s something that just happens to certain people. There is a girl about 8 or so at my son`s school - not trying to worry you here - but she is just about completely grey ! I know she is having some sort of treatment for it though. So you see - always someone worse off. Tell your son not to worry - and don`t you either. X

its probably stress im not that sure. for professional advice ask the doctor.

Grey hair on a15yrold?

i knew a kid onece(12) he had grey speckeled thing in his hair, it was some kind of no sweat DNA thing

Grey hair on a15yrold?

It could be due to bad diet. Have you tried giving him extra vitamins D and E? these will improve the texture of the hair and possibly restore its natural colour!

Hope this helps.

Grey hair and only 17?

okay im 17 and im already starting to get grey hair...haha... its not that it looks bad... it really doesnt..most people like it but im just wondering why... any ideas? theres not that much but you can notice it....

Grey hair and only 17?

Honey, It's hereditary. I have had a silver streak in the front of my head since I was 14 years old. I'm a hairdresser and I don't color my hair. I celebrate it. It's different and everyone wants to know where I got it done.

You have two choices....work with it and incorporate it into a hairstyle that will show it off.....or color it to cover the grey.

You have short hair....and coloring can become very costly because you cut your hair so often the color will get cut out.

Life doesn't end when you get a grey hair....enjoy it...;)

BTW...I'm 47 now....and I have 60 % silver in my hair. It looks like a frost and I don't have to pay to get it...;)

Grey hair and only 17?

Bet you got Black hair, but you didnt mention your natural colouring, if it is black, this colour does infact go grey before the other colours, but 17, that is very unusual, good luck

Grey hair and only 17?

I think you thinking or worried about stuff too much. Take a break once awhile.

Grey hair and only 17?

I started getting gray at 12. I'm not positive why, but early grey does run on both sides of my family.

Grey hair and only 17?

check out ur family genes this is the best probability I'm sorry as it runs in my family too......had a cousin go grey at 13! yep it looked weird actually but what can you do but live with it or start saving, as you do have the option of using hair dyes for the rest of ur life

Grey hair and only 17?

Do you remember Taylor Hicks, the American Idol winner from a few years ago? He has a head full of completely grey hair, and he actually started getting gray hair when he was 14. It was just because of his genetics.

Your grey hair may be because of hereditary reasons too. If someone in your family has grey hair then maybe you have a high possibility to have grey hair.

Another reason maybe because of stress. If you are stressed out, then you can have grey hair. There is no scientific connection of your hair and stress. But scientifically, your hair becomes gray because of the melanin content in your hair.

What is melanin? It is a substance found in skin, hair, the pigmented tissue underlying the iris, the medulla and zona reticularis of the adrenal gland, the stria vascularis of the inner ear, and in pigment bearing neurons of certain deep brain nuclei such as the locus ceruleus and the substantia nigra. Melanin is the primary determinant of human skin color. THis also determines the color of your hair. Blondes have less melanin while blacks have a lot. Also, redheaded people have a higher concentration of iron oxide in their melanin, thus the term "rusty." Melanin has many polymers, like the example of redheads. Their melanin has a greater number of Pheomelanin polymers..

Grey hair may be caused by lesser presence of melanin as you grow old. But since your young, then maybe your hair has Eumelanin polymers. THat's just normal. Don't worry.

Grey hair and only 17?

Gray hairs are genetic, but also can sprout up if you are under stress....

My grandfather was totally white haired by the time he was 21. I am in my 30's and have gray here and there. My mother did not go gray until her 50's.

It all depends on your genetics and your lifestyle (more stress, earlier gray hairs).

Is getting grey hair genetic in youth genetic?

my brother started getting grey hair as a teenager,im in my early thirties and its just starting to sprout.is it determined in the genes when you will grow them?

Is getting grey hair genetic in youth genetic?

Pretty sure it is genetic. Don't worry about going really gray, though. I got my first couple of gray hairs in my early 30's as well, and while I'm not much farther on in years than that now (34), I still really don't have all that much more. Maybe a strand or two. Honestly, I'm the only one who even notices they're there. I know people in their 20's getting gray hair.

A friend of mine has an uncle who's Asian, and apparently where he's from (I can't remember which country) gray hair is a sign of wisdom. He's even got his first one framed. Could look at it that way.

Is getting grey hair genetic in youth genetic?

i dont know, my sister went gray when she was like two. now she is salt and peper.....so is one of my best friends....he's a young adult! lol. i have gray eye brows.....??? i dunno

Is getting grey hair genetic in youth genetic?

its genetic...

Is getting grey hair genetic in youth genetic?

It's in the genes. Melanin gives thecolor and is the same stuff that makes our skin's color fair or darker. Melanin disappears, the hair turns grey or white.

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen

I'm 29 now and I've been having Grey hair since 24. I apply henna once every 2 months. Can you suggest a good shampoo and conditioner or any other treatment that can help me?

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen my hair?

I like pantene they have really good products. try the one that says intensive moisture or something like that.

and if you decide to straighten your hair you should use aphogee. it is supposed to keep hair healthy and undo some of the damage of the chemicals.

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen my hair?

it will make it worse, but you can work it up again, when i got my perm done it was in terrible conditionbut i used special conditioners and its really soft now.

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen my hair?

I take vitamin E (fish oil nature made) 1200 mgs twice to three times a day.

I also use Aussie Moist Shampoo and Aussie Moist Conditioner (around $ 7 a piece for the big bottles) and I love it. Is your hair curly that is why you want to straighten it?

Get your hair feeling smoother and softer first before doing more damage. You can try a salon but I bet Aussie will work. If not there are all kinds of moist shampoos/conditioners out there w/o the cost of the salon.

Good Luck!

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen my hair?

Suave Professionals conditioners is a great line for dry hair. Also Garnier Fructis and a little more pricey line that works is Nexxus. You may want to do a deep conditioner and leave in treatment by Infusium 23.

Grey or white hair?

Why do some people have white hair and others grey hair?

An educational link would be helpful.....Thanks

Grey or white hair?

people with white hair are further into the process of loss of hair pigment, natural part of getting older

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes

My hair are highlighted, but when they grow in between the highlights, the grey starts showing. Its only a few hair in the front. I dont want to start using hair dyes so early and also just for a few hair. Is there any other alternative. My hair are black with blonde highlights in them. I have heard of temporary mascaras, are they good? Also using henna on just those few hairs, would that be good? I also came across some henna shampoos, but I am not sure if they can be used on highlighted hair. Any suggestions, Please.

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?

If it's only just a few hairs as in a few strands, you might just want to pull them out like me :) Of course I'm talking about only 2 or 3 strands, not more than that.

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?

Use Just For Men dye for the beards. Really. It works. You only make up a little at a time and only use it where you need it. It's not permanent but it only takes 5 minutes and lasts several shampoos.

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?

You can go to any beauty supply store like Sally's Beauty supply sales to the public and they have a crayon looking device that lets you color in the hair between the hair appointments. It is not permanent so anytime you shampoo or wet your hair you will have to use it again but it works between color/highlight appointments.

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?

No hard feelins

look juz wait till all of em turn grey then you'll rock........... naturally

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?

The colored mascara would work, although there are a few negatives that you should be aware of. The downfall of using them is that every time you wash your hair they wash out. If it rains it will run (and so will any other kind of temporary colors), and they also have a tendency to clump up. Plus, you wouldn't be able to run your fingers through your hair because you would get it all over your hands.

The henna shampoo wouldn't be a good idea because it will also cover your highlights.

If I were you, I would either try the henna color ONLY on the grey area. Or, try a semi-permanent color on the grey area. That's about all the options you have. Good luck with whatever you try!

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?

Well that sucks. I wouldn't suggest any mascaras. I'm just a smart a** and say wear a hat! But you probally should dye it if you're concerned about it.

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?

What is your original hair color? If you don't mind reddish highlights and tones use henna for hair. Natural body art quality to be safest !!

For brown tones use henna and indigo mixed together

For black use henna first, then put indigo afterwards seperately.

This is very safe and covers grey very well.

I have long grey hair?

I am starting a new job Monday %26amp; have grey hair down to the middle of my back. I am 54 yrs old. Anyway, I would like to do something with it. The reason it's so long is because in the past it seems that whoever would cut it would totally mess it up...so, I just let it grow. While it is pretty and is easier to keep up, I'm not trying to relive my teenage years. My mother would turn over in her grave if she saw my hair....she thought anyone over 30 should have short hair. I want to go to a good place, reasonable price if possible. Maybe I should just wait for my first paycheck %26amp; splurge for Dolce or someplace with the most trained stylists....I'm trying to avoid coloring as that's a pain to keep up when it's grey. But who knows? I'm also in the Phoenix area too. Thanks for any input!

I have long grey hair?

Braid it, twist it and wear it up. It is hot in Phx and long hair can get sweaty and a mess in that heat. I know, I grew up there. Don't cut it unless you really want to.

I have long grey hair?

Have you tried the JC Penney salon? My mom is your age and she gets her hair done there- she always looks great and has a short style. Try a chin length bob or something a little layered. Good luck with your new job!

I have long grey hair?

i think you should leave it and be happy about your hair if you like it it shouldnt matter what anyone thinks

I have long grey hair?

Gray hair can be beautiful. I would suggest having it cut shoulder length to curl under. That would not put you into shock over having so much cut off and you can gradually go shorter or grow it out if you hate it.

Good luck with the new job and the new style.

I have long grey hair?

Put on a nice casual outfit and go to the best department store in town. Go to the expensive womens clothing section where they have clothes you can only dream about. Ask the best dressed, best groomed sales clerk there for a recommendation for a hairdresser. Even if the clerk doesn't use the hairdresser, having been around all the local wealthy women, she'll know which are the good salons.

I have long grey hair?

Well you should go bald because that's a good look for people like you who aer or want to experience new things.

How do i manage grey hair?

Unfortunately i have grey hair - agh!!! Not all of it but quite a bit. i have been dyeing it dark brown but hate the block of colour if you know what i mean.

Does anyone know of any other way to manage/hide grey hair? - i am looking for a permanent solution that i can just do/get done every six weeks etc. I feel the dark colour makes me look older as my natural hair is light brown.

i.e would highlights/low lights (not bright blonde) work?

Any ideas would be very much appreciated as i dyed my hair last night to dark brown and my son said i look like morticia from the adams family!

How do i manage grey hair?

Are you using a permanent color or temporary? Using a color marketed to men specifically or women? I ask this because there are major differences in haircolor offered commercially.

Permanent color is your best option as it will offer complete grey coverage with maintanence being every 4 - 6 weeks. Color marketed to men often contain metallic salts that react bad with other colors on the market.

Color choices should stay within the shade of your natural hair and no more than one shadelighter or darker for best results. Perhaps a choice of a light or medium brown will provide results more to your liking. Since you are covering grey, always choose a color that is described as "neutral" or "natural" as to avoid unwanted color casts in your grey as it is colored.

As for the color you just applied... it is in it's freshest peak at this moment. All color will fade, to some extent. Expect it to tone down a half to a full shade within the next week or so.

Honestly, the advice of a local salon professional will be your best bet. They can see your hair, determine the percentage of grey in your hair, and custom formulate a color that will match your natural exactly. And, they'll most likely offer a complimentary consultation. Worth the time to get the results you really want, isn't it?

Seek the advice of a local pro and you will not go wrong.

How do i manage grey hair?

To check graying of hair, mix lemon juice in olive oil, beat till frothy and apply on scalp and wash off after an hour. Premature graying of hair can be postponed by using a strong decotion of black tea and a tablespoon of salt, strain and apply to the roots for 45 minutes and wash with water. Don't shampoo. How does a strand of hair turn grey overnight? I could understand if it started out grey and grew..?

but I'll find a lone grey hair just as long as the rest of my hair, as if it turned grey overnight. I've never found a short grey hair, just long ones. And as a bonus, why are they so coarse?

How does a strand of hair turn grey overnight? I could understand if it started out grey and grew..?

Hair color is caused by a pigment (melanin) produced by hair follicles. With aging, the follicle produces less melanin.

Graying often begins in the 30s, although this varies widely. Graying usually begins at the temples and extends to the top of the scalp. Hair becomes progressively lighter, eventually turning white.

Many people have some gray scalp hair by the time they are in their 40s. Body and facial hair also turn gray, but usually later than scalp hair. The hair in the armpit, chest, and pubic area may gray less or not at all.

Graying is genetically determined. Gray hair tends to occur earlier in Caucasians and later in Asian races. Nutritional supplements, vitamins, and other products will not stop or decrease the rate of graying.

How does a strand of hair turn grey overnight? I could understand if it started out grey and grew..?

hair pegmentation

How does a strand of hair turn grey overnight? I could understand if it started out grey and grew..?

Stress can do it and also a bad hit in the head.

How does a strand of hair turn grey overnight? I could understand if it started out grey and grew..?

Children....?

How does a strand of hair turn grey overnight? I could understand if it started out grey and grew..?

"If a strand starts brown, it should fall out brown. ". Actually, this wouldn't be true. Hair is built from the bottom like a sausage coming out of a sausage machine, or icing coming out of a icing bag. So when the melanocytes (there's a name for everything isn't there) stop producing pigment and the hair continues to grow, you would get a hair with a brown end and a gray base.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the pigment tends to be distributed in the outer layer of the hair longer than the inner layers.

This would leave you with a hair that is brown fading to gray, and in the fading zone, the pigment is being worn off daily. When the gray area is close to the scalp it wouldn't be that noticeable. But when it grew out longer it would be more noticeable because the gray stretch would be getting longer faster than the actual hair is. Finally, when there is enough of the gray part, it will lift up above the rest of the hair (because as you noted it is coarser); at which point, whatever is left of the brown part will not be as visible as the gray part.

This is mostly conjecture, I don't have anything to back this up except logic. And I'm blonde, which has its own peculiarities.

Your father is easier to explain. Gray hair (in another example of God's twisted sense of humor) is far less likely to fall out during stress than pigmented hair. So - hair with more pepper than salt + stress = hair with lots more salt in relation to pepper. Check the link below.

Can grey hair change back to it's original color?

If you get grey hairs from stress, when you are not stressed anymore, will the hair change back to its original color?

Can grey hair change back to it's original color?

I think if hair turns grey form stress then it means that the stress had an effect on the amount of melanin. So if stress causes the melanin to stop I don't think it would just start back up.

There are formulas that can help produce a melanin effect through pigments without harsh chemicals... the 'Grecian Formula' is one my step dad uses it, it is not the same as dying your hair.

I found this... http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/apr...

You have to click on two different links to actually get to the answer on this site.

Hope this helps=)

Can grey hair change back to it's original color?

no...Sorry I really wish it could!!!

Can grey hair change back to it's original color?

Mine never did. Not without the help of Miss Clairol. I got my first one at 27 and I will never ever forget it!

Can grey hair change back to it's original color?

when you hair turns grey it's a result of pigment cells in the root dying...i don't know anything that turns dead cells back alive

hair dye is the only way to stop grey hair

Can grey hair change back to it's original color?

sure! it's called hair coloring

Can grey hair change back to it's original color?

No. Gray hair is not actually caused by stress, although a lot of people make the corelation.

Blame the job/spouse/child responsible for the stress and make them pay your bill to the beauty salon.

Can grey hair change back to it's original color?

My grandmother when she was around 25 and was going through domestic abuse with my grandfather became grey from stress. Grey hair can't turn back to it's original color because it it permanent loss of color to hair.

What causes grey hair or at what stage does one starts havin grey hair.?

cause iam 27 and i have grey hair all over.

What causes grey hair or at what stage does one starts havin grey hair.?

According to Wikipedia:

Gray hair color typically occurs naturally as people age, usually turning their hair from its natural color to gray and then to white. More than 40 percent of Americans have some gray hair by their fortieth birthday, but white hairs can appear as early as childhood. The age at which graying begins seems to be almost entirely based on genetics. Sometimes people are born with gray hair because it is passed down genetically. Some people use hair dye to disguise the amount of gray in their hair.

The change in hair color is caused by the gradual decrease of pigmentation that occurs when melanin ceases to be produced in the hair root and new hairs grow in without pigment. Two genes appear to be responsible for the process of graying, Bcl2 and Mitf. The stem cells at the base of hair follicles are responsible for producing melanocytes, the cells that produce and store pigment in hair and skin. The death of the melanocyte stem cells causes the onset of graying.

I don't think that you can do anything to stop it just try to cover it up, you have my sympathy though I started greying at 25, I think the darker you are the sooner it starts.

Why do people with grey hair look older than they are?

Is it because most old people have grey hair and hence, we presume every person with grey hair to be older than they are or does grey hair do something to a persons appearence to make it seem older?

Why do people with grey hair look older than they are?

It's a little-known fact that grey hair actually makes people look exactly their age. We are fooled, however, because non-grey hair tends to make people look *younger* than they are. It's an easy mistake to make.

Why do people with grey hair look older than they are?

grey hair is often associated with old people so if we get it in our 40s and 50s they think we are older

Why do people with grey hair look older than they are?

Easy ~ When you get older, you get grey hair. It's just one of those characteristics of getting older.. just like wrinkles, balding, getting shorter, driving slower, women/ dressing funny, men/ wearing slacks and loafers, and getting weird bellies.

Why do people with grey hair look older than they are?

Due to our developed perception that most old people has grey/white hair. Yuo dont see many young dudes with white/grey hair. So, its more of a perception.

Sometimes it could be that greying hair or thinning hair shows a lack of vitality and lost its lustre. Therefore making the person looks worn out thus making them look older.

Why do people with grey hair look older than they are?

Grey hair is associated with older people. That's why hair dye manufacturers make so much money.

Which reminds me......today is my hair-coloring day so I'd best get to it.

Strengthening shampoo for grey hair?

I am going grey at my temples and along my part. I've noticed that the grey hair break easily. My brunette hair is strong and thick but the grey is more thin and kind of does its own thing. Because it breaks it ends up sticking out at odd angles.

So, I need to get a shampoo and/or conditioner that will strengthen it and, hopefully, make it behave.

Any suggestions?

Strengthening shampoo for grey hair?

It's funny how the grey strands are different in texture from the other ones, isn't it?

Any strengthening shampoo should help. I like Pantene products, but there are probably many others.

You may have to re-learn some grooming habits to minimize breakage to this new, fragile hair you're growing. Brush gently rather than vigorously. Be sure you don't tug at tangles, allow it to catch in glasses or jewelry, and other guaranteed hair-breakers. It's not going to like perms, curling irons, or the hot setting on a hair dryer.

Consider a deep conditioning treatment once a week or so, not that your brunette hair needs it, but for the grey guys. (Again, I like Pantene's.)

Strengthening shampoo for grey hair?

Grey hair is actually stronger %26amp; doesn't need fortifying, Biolage does wonders for smoothing and toning your hair.

Strengthening shampoo for grey hair?

oh man i drawing a blank. i will edit. It comes in a purple bottle. helps greys from turning yellow.
