my son has a grey spot of hair on the back of his head its about thye size of a penny does anyone know what the cause of this could be,

My brother has the same exact thing...its a birth mark. It's no your fault nor a birth defect, a mere birth mark.

my freind had the same thing, but with white londe hair. some peple have birth marks on there eyes too. its absolutely normal! dont worry, but if her self concious about it, then just put some dye on it

When I was 13, I got about 12-15 strands of grey hair, they ahve been there ever since, I have never pulled them out because of the old wives tail about pulling one out getting 2 in replacement, I can usualy cover it up with other hair so it doesn't bother me, but for a boy it can't be as easy.

They say you gt grey hair when you are stressed I got them the same year my parents spilt up - I don't know if this is the reason but it has done me no harm!

My son got the same when he was about 6 years old, was about the size of a penny, by the time he was 18 it was gone, it is nothing to worry about, just one of lifes little mysteries im afraid!

There is nothing you can do about it - except dye it of course. My son is 10 and has one grey hair that comes back no matter how mant times i get rid of it. Ive cut it many times. Today i noticed he has one silver hair ! I`m not kidding ! I don`t worry about it - and he doesn`t even know - i don`t tell him - no need to. I think it`s something that just happens to certain people. There is a girl about 8 or so at my son`s school - not trying to worry you here - but she is just about completely grey ! I know she is having some sort of treatment for it though. So you see - always someone worse off. Tell your son not to worry - and don`t you either. X

It could be due to bad diet. Have you tried giving him extra vitamins D and E? these will improve the texture of the hair and possibly restore its natural colour!
