When dyeing grey hair, what can I apply to the hairline to avoid looking like I am wearing a swim ca

next few days or so, until the dye on my scalp/hairline wears off? I am using my all-in-one moisturizer applied heavily (water-gel based). I am afraid that if I use something oily, the hair that inadvertently gets oily stuff on it will not take the dye...Help! I dread this part of dyeing my hair. Going to a salon is not an option; too expensive. Not dyeing it is also not an option; I need the youthfulness of non-grey to fit in at my job place, and to not stand out (stand 'old') at my grade school kids' PTA etc.

Before u color apply a base(like vaseline) around hair line. After u color: get an old towel and dab some of the left-over color on it. Rub that where ever u have color(on the skin only!). It sounds crazy but color removes color.

In the beauty shops they use vasiline.

Just be very careful when applying it to not get any hair in it.

Just use vaseline around the hairline and on the tips of the ears.

My beautician uses a plastic cap and puts shampoo and a little of the color that was left over. When she gets ready to shampoo my hair she uses this mixture along my hair line and it comes off completely.

Cold cream and those long strands of cotton (like they use when giving a perm) do a very good job.

cream based conditioner - and slather it on well.

at the end of cooking apply just a bit of the color to the color on the hairline and rub. color removes color as long as water or shampoo is not applied first.

to get it out of the tub, floor, sink and any WHITE clothing : regular cascade crystals and HOT water. wipe down bathroom and soak wite clothing for 24 hrs.
