I started getting grey hair since I was 14...I'm 19 now and I have to constantly dye my hair to keep they grey at bay (ha ha that rhymes!) My mom thinks everything has to do with vitamins! grr... am I a freak because of this?!?!

Other than the obivous genetic response. Have your parents look into the medications that you took as a child. It may be a side effect of past medicines that you have taken. Some say early hair loss or hair pigmentation discoloration amoung other things. A patient of ours was a 23 year old male with early hair loss. Early balding did not run in his family. When we started doing research on it. One of the acne medications he had been perscribed for half of his life caused his early balding.

It's because of what your genes are. But, looks aren't everything. I think that it's who you are that really matters.

I started getting grey hair at around 20 years old. My sister and I both have a significant amount of grey hair she dies hers and I refuse to (I guess hair dye is a girl thing). In our case I am pretty sure that it is genetic as our father went grey early as well.

Early greying is sometimes associated with auto-immunediseases. My daughter has Crohn's, and greying early.

Mine started turning gray at 18. It's all gray now. I found a quote in the Bible that gray hair is a crown of silver that God gives for virtuous living. Whenever discussion of my hair color comes up, I make a joke about it, often using that quote.
