Grey hair and wrinkles?

I am having a mystery party for my daughter's 12th birthday. I am supposed to play a rich, 97 year-old woman during the party. I am 35 years-old with very few wrinkles. I have red hair. Does anyone know how to create wrinkles with make-up? Also, is there a trick for making hair look grey? I have seen wigs. I was wondering if they make that temporary colored hair spray in grey. I can only find white. I shopped at the local Goodwill for a costume. I found a pair of granny pants, a granny shirt, and some orthopedic type shoes. My daughter said that if I wore that, I wouldn't look like a rich, classy old lady, I would look like a poor old lady who no one cares about. Does anyone have suggestions as to what would be appropriate for me to wear to be a rich, classy, old lady?

Grey hair and wrinkles?

For grey hair, what I do and what lots of stage actors do is use baby powder. Or some other talcum powder. You can apply it to dry hair or wet your hair and put it in. I have brown hair and usually have to use a lot to get it show. But it works. And is probably cheaper than a wig.

I know a few ways to make you looka ged. One method is using cream make ups and foundation, eye shadows etc. Another method is using either liquid latex, or a facial peel. Elmers glue. etc. They both are very long. So i'm going to only type the second one because the method is shorter, but if you are interested in the other method then email me at krgr_1428@yahoo.com with the subjects "Halloween" or soemthign to let me know who you are.

Think of how the muscles and sinews run on the face and where the skin will wrinkle, sag or be tight. Stretch the skin across the direction or muscles and sinews using two fingers. Then lay a line of latex, facial peel, or glue along the direction of the muscles and sinews using a make up spatula or disposable brush. Avoid getting it in eyes, or too close to hair, eyeborws, nostrils. Also wear old clothes as if you get liquid latex in your clothes, you'll never get it out again. Dry with a hair dryer while keeping the skin pulled out . Be sure not to hold the hairdryer too close so that you don't burn your skin. You may need help form someone else. Ask your daughter to help. It can be a nice bonding sort of thing, my 6 year old loves helping :) When the latex/peel, or glue is dry let go of the skin. Pinch the skin lighlty together against the direction of stretch and it will wrinkle slightly. Repeat this procedure 2-3 times on top of the same line of latex, glue, peel until you get the desired level of wrinkling. Treat the whole face and neck and if necessary the hands the same way. When you're finished, powder the make up area with face powder or talc. If you use the peel or white glue you may need to use foundation to give it a skin color. Carefully blend in with a brush. Then powder lightly. Carefully color the ridge beneath the lower eyelashes using red eye pencil and tone using a brush. This will give the impression of a pair of tired old eyes.

Tone eyebrows and the hairline grey or whitish using white cake make up. Liver spots can be created using a mix of yellow and brown make up.

I also have tips on making aged hands pretty much just by using, gelatin, liquid latex and tissue paper. If you'd like to know that then email me.

Liquid latex is better to use with the method I just desicred. You can find it online or in costume stores. Do you have a Party City in your area? I use Cinema Secrets Flesh Latex.

As for looking like a rich classy old lady. They're usually pretty out of touch as far as style goes. And usually have an older outdated style to their clothes. So go to a thrift store like Goodwill or something and look for and older classy looking suit or dress. Pearls, some other costume jewlery. etc

Hope I helped! Good luck :)

Here is a link I found on line. It's for kids but I think the techniques will apply

You could also try the face painting forum on Snazaroo.com. That is a company that we face painters use. There are lots of professionals there who can answer questions on anything in the painted body art world and fx makeup applies here.

You should be able to find a nice old lady dress and shoes at the second hand store. Also you will find some old jewelry to go with the outfit. As for the wrinkles try putting flour or powder on your face then apply the liquid makeup. it should cake up for the effect. Hair will be a little harder since yours is red. But also do the flour thing on your hair shake and redo till there is enough on. Seeing its getting close to Halloween I am sure you can find some sort of grey spray out there or even a wash out rinse.
