My husband does my hair all the time. At least once every month. I have a lot of grey, mostly at the roots. My hair is dark and it sure shows up a lot.

When he does it. He mixes the dye and starts at my roots and in back underneath....Then he uses all the solution to cover my entire head and rubs it in all over. I leave it on 45 minutes and rinse it...Then condition it. I have always had compliments on it and it works for me. Doing it this way...

The grey always goes a lighter brown and the rest is just a bit darker. but it looks good. With blond hair it might be different, I don't know. As you can see in my Avitar, it don't look bad...LOL

If the other looks like it has faded and needs to be pulled thru the ends..just leave it the last 5-10 minutes. That should lift it back up.

you should leave it on the grey for the full time in the instructions ,then pull through to the ends ( if they need refreshing) for only the last 5- 10 mins. If your grey is stubborn you can pre-soften by applying just the peroxide to the grey for 10 -15 mins before putting the colour on, this will open the cuticle for better colour deposit.
