What causes hair to turn grey really?

im only 23 but have id say a group of about 50 grey hairs on the left side of my part. ive had terrible headaches on just this side of my head, could these 2 things be related?

What causes hair to turn grey really?

The root of every strand of hair is surrounded by a tube of tissue under the skin that is called the hair follicle (fah-lih-kul). Each hair follicle contains a certain number of pigment cells. These pigment cells continuously produce a chemical called melanin (meh-luh-nin) that gives the growing shaft of hair its color of brown, blonde, red, and anything in between.

Melanin is the same stuff that makes our skin's color fair or darker. It also helps determine whether a person will burn or tan in the sun. The dark or light color of someone's hair depends on how much melanin each hair contains.

As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent color - like gray, silver, or white - as it grows. As people continue to get older, fewer pigment cells will be around to produce melanin. Eventually, the hair will look completely gray.

Sun causes the hair to turn grey. You never see PUBIC hair turn grey! why?

It could possibly be related. If you are experiencing headaches in a certain area all the time, you might have a tumor. Not to scare you, but that's how we found out about my grandmother having cancer.... It was in her lungs, but still.... There may be a reaon why your hair is turning grey... maybe lack of nutrients to the area to produce the melanin. I suggest you see a doctor soon if the headaches continue. And the grey hair, it's normal to have a few strands here and there. My fiance has streaks of grey, and he's only 19. It's based on genetics, stress, and other factors as well. You could always bleach your hair...that's how I don't see mine if I get them. Haha! But seriously though, I recommend the doctor. Better to be safe than sorry.

You can ask Taylor Hicks about turning grey at a young age . For some people it's completely normal.

I would be concerned about the headaches and definitely see a doctor about it as soon as you can.

BTW Ocean of Notion
