Hair pigmentation, grey hair?

One gray hair on your head is probably just a fluke and nothing to worry about. Graying hair can be genetic. My grandmother's hair was almost entirely gray when she graduated high school. I would say if you find a few more than ask you doctor but if its only one its no big deal and probably a lot of people have one random gray hair.

FYI-Egg nog is pasteurized before packaging and sold in stores so there is no raw egg in egg nog. I don't really know how her answer was relavent anyway...

If you have pigmentation issues, then yes that can happen. I see people with tiny white, grey or almost clear patches of hair all the time.

Sounds like a vitamin or mineral deficiency. Don't have the book Shen Ku with me currently. I'll get back to you on the ones which can result in a loss of skin and hair depigmentation. Also, I'm going to assume you don't dye your hair with toner.

It seems you may have a slight form of Vitiligo, which would explain the patches and the light colored hair strands.

I would suggest that you talk to your parents about your concerns and have them make an appointment for you with a dermatologist. There are many people who have grey hair at a young age (a hair here or there) and even skin problems. But, a doctor can diagnose the problem especially the one that you are having with your skin. It may be nothing, but seeing a doctor, in my opinion, is the best way to be certain and ease your concerns.

im not sure what caused it but im just here to say that grey hair looks good on some people. not like old peoples grey, but its a little bit darker. just bare that in mind :)

Hair pigmentation, grey hair?

Gray hair is caused by lack of coloration. The hair you found is without color there by appearing gray. The hair follicle contains a finite amount of color. Once the color runs out the follicle produces colorless hair.

Hair does not turn grey, it actually turns white, and that is why the single strand is colorless or white. It only looks grey because it is contrasted with the other colored hairs - it is an optical illusion in a sense. It is probably just an anomaly, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

You may have a melanin or pigmentation deficiency. Best to ask your doctor next time you have to visit him/her.
