Can I reverse hair colouring so that I have my grey hair?

I am sick of the vicious circle of colouring my hair to hide the grey and then in a couple of weeks having to have the roots done again and again ad nauseum.

No you can grow out to your natural color. but white hair has no color in it , so you can't color hair white.

Yes. It looks best if you have it done professionally but you can do it your self by bleaching the color out and then adding a light amount of color to it. Grey hair is seldom actually white.

yes there is a product called MODULAT is made by a company called Schwartzkopf....it's an expensive procedure....but well worth it....it reverses the coloring process on the molecular level....bringing the color molecules back out of the hair strand without damaging the hair...

NEVER ever use peroxide in trying to get color out of hair....

Modulat USED to be available to professionals but now i see it available on Ebay (of course)...

Follow directions to the T....or call a good Salon in your area until you find someone who performs MOD-U-LAT treatments....most likely you will need to have a few....

but its the safe out

to the land of "untinted" hair.....

There is no way to reverse hair color. The only thing I can suggest for you to do if you want it grey again is to grow it out. To make the growing out process a little easier and so that it won't be so obvious you can have very, very fine very blonde highlights put in. This will help disguise the fact that you are growing out the old color. When the blonde and grey mix together they will look very much the same. I have done this for a few of my clients and it is the best solution that I have found. Good Luck!!!

Coloring gray hair can get very expensive because you not only have to color the roots, but a lot of people highlight their hair as well and the two processes together can get pretty expensive. In such cases reverse coloring is required and most hair colorists don't tell you that.

I don't know what your original hair color is but I have 2 suggestions:

1. You can strip the color off your hair by using a color stripper-available at Beauty Supplies by Clairol and other manufacturers. But the color does not strip completely and you may end up with red or a shade you don't like. You may even have to put a toner on until the hair grows enough for you to cut the colored parts off.

2. Clairol makes a wonderful temporary color called Just For Men. I have used it for years and it is great for touch-ups-ez to use and takes only 2-3 minutes tops. The hair feels soft and silky because there is no ammonia -and it fades in 6 weeks. You can use this method temporarily or continue to use this method of color-I assure you that I am very satisfied, I do it myself at home and I save hundreds of dollars each year by avoiding the haircolorist!

you have a couple options.

let it grow out, and trim it down as needed until it's your natural color. that is probably the best way, altho you have to be able to deal with the roots showing.

there are "reverse" hair dyes you can buy, that can remove hair dye, but they're iffy at best, some colors, especially reds, are very hard to remove, and the "reverse" (i say it that way cuase i'm not sure what it's called) isn't going to neccesarily work. you can buy them in the same aisle as hair dyes.

if it were ME, i'd just let it grow out, and trim it as needed till it was all your own hair.
