Try going to a hairdresser. Maybe they have special hair dyers or therapies that can help this. If they don't, don't panic. Sometimes you can hide these pesky hair pieces by putting your hair in different styles.

Go to a professional who'll give you a salon treatment and then explain to you exactly how to do your roots at home.

Everyone's hair is different, and a professional will be able to explain how to tweak the package directions and possibly guide you to a different shade or formula than you've been using.

Get recommendations from people whose opinion you trust, then call around to see which colorists are open to doing this with you. Once you're in the shop, if you don't have a good feeling, then GO. This is a process, and it will take time and cost nerves and you'll pay good money, but in the end you'll save a lot and have a look you'll love every day.
