When you see a woman in their 50's with long hair (2" from waist) and only the crown is gr

The rest of the hair is a medium brown. The woman appears to be in her 40's because she's not wrinkled. Should she tint the grey hair to match the rest, get a stylish hair cut or leave it alone? She usually wears her hair down and pulled back.

When you see a woman in their 50's with long hair (2" from waist) and only the crown is grey, is is ugly?

If she likes her hair, that's all that matters.

I am just a few short years (4 to be exact) from 50. I like my salt and pepper hair (rapidly increasing in the salt dept.) and have no intention of dyeing it. The woman you describe sounds beautiful. More power to her.

I wouldn't say ugly, but it would probably look "undone".

grey hair is sexy

its annoying when ppl's hair is 2 colors..and ugly..get a new style..let the person go wild with the hair and you'll learn to like it

That would be up to her! When I go gray, I will wear my hair as I please just like I do now.

I would say she should color the hair to match the rest.

I think she should tint it and make sure it's just healthy. I don't think she'd be considered "ugly" just a little unpolished and perhaps look a little lazy.

Color it or cut it. Same goes with any age woman/girl with obvious roots. Either keep it colored or don't color it all. No two tones unless it is a professional streaking job or honestly natural other than gray.

but seriously yes.

Possibility that she has decided to go natural and is waiting for her hair to get long enough so that when she cuts it, it will all be natural grey and whatever. I actually have that problem. When to stop dying my hair and how to go natural with grey.

It's definitely dated .... it shows signs of just "having" long hair... where is the style in that? The long hair sounds like an open canvas... there are many possibilities... I would not be afraid to check out some different stylists to get their opinions... and then go for it! The comments will start coming in, and soon you will be thinking "wow, I had no idea people thought that my old long hair style was dated...."

Long hair is wonderful...no cutting it yet! If i were her, i would likely tint the gray to match the rest, most likely even tinting the rest to make sure of a match. Then, touch ups every several weeks. Best wishes!

I believe it does not look good. Also the texture of our hair changes as we get older. I think if she got a shorter hair cut regardless if she decides to go natural Grey or to add color, she will have a more youthful appearance.

When you see a woman in their 50's with long hair (2" from waist) and only the crown is grey, is is ugly?

Why don't you ask her what she wants to do? It appears your judging her for her natural gray hair. That doesn't make her look more ugly but perhaps mature and I think lots of women even with gray look truly sensual and I say coddles to her. Wake up boy and smell the reality.

She should donate the hair to the bauld-headed Cancer children. After all, hair is only an accessory, like a handbag.

This is only my opinion k?Color the crown to match other hair,do not go darker it makes a woman look harsher, cut to mid back or shoulder, stylish cut...she will look under 40 then..%26gt;=)

she should probably either go completely gray or dye her hair, a woman that age should probably wear her hair a bit shorter too

  1. Before losing all of my hair to cancer treatments, I had waist-length dark chocolate brown and silver hair. The crown was silver/mixed, and the hair underneath, as well as the ends were still dark. I would get stopped on the street by people who commented on how strikingly beautiful and natural it was. So, if the woman has healthy hair, skip faking it and go natural.

Also, prior to treatment, I donated 2 12" ponytails of very strong, healthy thick hair. The new growth has come in curly and I have enough now to donate another 10" to an organization that will accept grey hair. (It's salt & pepper).
